What is the purpose of this module?
The purpose of this module is to equip the student with a knowledge and understanding of the legal framework, and regulatory structures that govern the discipline of the management of contingencies and emergencies in the context of civil protection.
What are the aims?
To develop an awareness of the legislation pertaining to contingency management, including the Civil Contingencies Act 2004 in order to facilitate effective working, with a clear set of skills and responsibilities, within the legal frameworks currently in existence.
What are the Learning Outcomes?
1. Implement the provision of the Civil Contingencies Act 2004 in the context of own employment/project.
2. Identify and describe the relevance of other legislation/regulations to civil protection issues
3. Demonstrate awareness of the effect of legislation on other category 1 responders
